Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is a place to explore, learn new things and have fun!
Did you know that play is vital to children’s social and emotional growth? Plus, it contributes to fine and gross motor skill development and body awareness.* As PBS’s Mr. Rogers explained, “Play is really the work of childhood.”
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, MMCM’s mission is to provide a hands-on, “Play and Learn” environment that engages and motivates children to use their curiosity and creativity to learn about the wonders of our world.
We opened our doors to the public in June 2008. Our bright, friendly building was planned, designed and built just for kids! With over 16,000 square feet of gallery space, each gallery has been developed around school curriculum with input from children’s museum specialists, educators and kids. From wet water exploration to fast-paced automotive adventures, we are excited for children birth to 10 years old and their caregivers to explore our hands-on museum.

A few fun facts…
We are privileged to serve a diverse community and excited for what the future will bring! MMCM provides a nontraditional museum environment: by providing hands-on learning experiences, retention in developing minds is heightened. Our interactive museum was designed to inspire future artists, scientists, engineers and community leaders through the magic of play.
