  • Your time is a gift to MMCM

    Volunteers help with many museum projects – from field trips to special events to behind-the-scenes work too!

    We are looking for volunteers for a whole host of activities:

    •Musicians
    •Magicians
    •Jugglers
    •Balloon artists
    •Face painters
    •Singers
    •Dancers
    •Help with Toddler Time
    •Many other talents as well

    We also need helpers for our special events throughout the year including:

    • Halloween Monster Mix & Mash – October 26th, 10AM-4PM
    • Holiday Hooray! – December 12th, 10AM-4PM
    • New Years Eve Countdown BLAST December 31st, 10AM-3PM

  • CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS:

    Volunteer requirements: Must be at least 14 years old or in 9th grade. New volunteers must submit an application and background check.

    **If you are a current or returning volunteer, you do not need to submit a new application. Send Whitney an email with your name and preferred shift time.**

    Volunteers needed for  Set-Up of Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum’s (MMCM) 17th Birthday Party special event

     

    When: Friday, May 9, 2025

    There is 1 shift available:

    3:30 pm-5 pm
    5 volunteers needed

    Volunteers are needed for the following:

    • Sanitizing and moving tables & chairs
    • Assist with gallery organizing
    • Set-up craft and game stations

     

    Volunteers needed at Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum’s (MMCM) 17th Birthday Party  special event!  

     

    When: Saturday, May 10, 2025

    There are 3 shifts available:

    Shift 1:  9:45 am – 1:30 pm

    Shift 2:  1:15 pm – 5:15 pm

    Shift 3:  9:45 am – 5:15 pm

     

    Volunteers are needed for the following:

    • Wearing the provided MMCM Mascot costumes, Pal & Gal
    • Entry level to experienced Face Painters needed
    • Assisting kids with crafts and games
    • Take down tables and sanitize tables and chairs
    • Assist guests and maintain a clean and safe play space in one or more museum galleries

     

     

    • Individuals from age 14 or in 9th grade up to 120 years old (may be hard bending after 120)
    • Sports teams from schools, semi-professional and professional
    • Businesses that volunteer in the community
    • Service groups
    • The list goes on and on!

    Why: MMCM’s contribution to the community is made by hosting fundraisers and special events throughout the year. Volunteers are a crucial part of a successful fundraiser

  • Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum volunteers come from different age groups, different backgrounds and different abilities, but these talented people all have one thing in common – they believe in our mission! Whether working as a gallery volunteer and guiding our play experience or helping with an exhibit maintenance project, each volunteer helps our guests discover the world through creativity and exploration.

    • Gallery Guides – Gallery volunteers help us keep the galleries organized, lead activities for our guests like obstacle courses or parachute play, encourage young artists in the Art Mart and much more!
    • Office Support – Dedicated to our behind-the-scenes needs, our office support volunteers help us with data entry, organizational and housekeeping tasks, and even IT projects.
    • Educators – Education students, current and retired educators, scientists, engineers, and passionate professionals help us with field trips, interactive hands-on programming, and day camps.
